In sweetcell's defense...I bet GBV could pick a 37 song, 90 min set list.

In sweetcell's offense...he's clearly wrong on this show being anything other than amazing.

^^ hard to believe it was only a 90 minute show, when they played 37 songs...

This GBV criticism coming from someone who requires his acts to dress up like robots, have a stage setup like a pyramid and have mind blowing light show to cover up the fact they are twiddling knobs.

i don't require anything of my acts.

idol worship much, kosmo?  relax.  i said it was a good show, and that other will probably like it even more than i did.  sorry for not conforming to your indie-mold ;D

might have been 100 minutes, maaaaaaaybe an hour and three quarters, but it was def under 2 hours.

talvin singh was ridiculous.  his ability to generate that many sounds, that quick quickly with just his fingers and 2 tablas was amazing.  his setup was 2 tablas, a midi percussion pad, a looper (phrase sampler) pedla board, and a laptop.  criminally under-attended, there were maybe 200 people there tops.

I just don't get why GBV would take the stage at 8 pm at the 930....its a thursday night.. if they do their 40 song set list they'll be done by 10:30.. and isn't Mascis' band Sweet Apple opening..

I don't understand why doors open at 6:30 and Eddie was saying that GBV was exepcted to go on by 8.

Its a problem for me because I'm on kid patrol until about 9 pm that night....

But GBV at 8? Havin g seen them many many times I can never recall them going on that early and their shows were always very long so it doesn't make sense unless they have to be up early the next day to go to NPR or something..

Quiet week for me:
Points at Velvet and Puerto Rico Flowers, Pfisters and Screen Vinyl Image at the Talking Head are the only two definites. May be swayed into going to Bone Thugs.

You were at that Tosca show and are giving Dorfmeister another shot? You are far more generous than I.

Please review afterward.
