The Pinch has potential, but the sound was not great-- you could barely tell there was a band playing from halfway back in the room, often a problem with rooms so long and narrow (and it was OVER-packed). Really need to set up some speakers closer to the back of the room. Also, Shark Week took an unnecessarily long time to set up / start playing-- it's fine if you're not going to start playing until after 11 PM, but then don't list 9 PM on your show flyer. That said, saw a ton of local bloggers out at the show (folks from HometownSoundsDC and DCMusicDownload were both there, plus obviously DCHeavyMetal's MetalChris), so that was cool. Way too crowded with hipsters (including some overly-coiffed girl in a cocktail dress-- where did she come from?!). But, I mean, it's a free show, so I can't complain too much.
