This story would be beyond incredible if only I knew who this person is!

Leas singer of Metric
All joking aside, I thought this is who he was talking about for a few seconds.

Alice Smith came on the scene about the time NeoSoul was taking off, she is known for her five octave voice and while primarily considered a soul singer she does venture into rock, r&b, jazz territory.  My guess is she is road testing new material which is why the smaller venues and limited east coast shows.  Of late she has been showing up on mainly soundtracks, she's on one the key songs towards the end of Sinners for example.  As a sidenote she is married to Citizen Cope and has ties to the DC area where she grew up.

Does your spouse give you shit for knowing that much detail about a relatively obscure musical artist while simultaneously not naturally knowing how to install shelving in a kitchen cabinet (because that's what men and not women are supposed to know about?)

with all that said I haven't seen Alice since she appeared at The Hamilton in 2013 and missed a bunch of shows at The Club, Lincoln, The Howard and the Kennedy Center between then and 2020..  and i stand corrected it's a four octave range has she.. and the kitchen shelf just fell off the wall, so sticking with facts about "obscure" singers
