The only people I truly mind are people who are not well behaved citizens. Doesn't matter what race they are.

...altho it is certainly difficult typing in the position where my head is up my ass, at least my ass isn't totally clueless.

Vienna does NOT reflect the racial/ethnic mix of the county, Fairfax, where it is located - the point of this thread.  In fact, it is an independently incorporated city - and has been for 100 years, and thus is self-governing.  It has its own government/municipal center, elected officials, police department...etc.

Live where you want.  Hold your own opinions.  Put your head up any ass you choose, including your own. I personally choose NOT to live in Vienna because I find it annoyingly - if not frighteningly - close to becoming like the "gated communities" of ethnicly pasturized people - complete with THEIR own private "security police" - who live in MY neighborhood.  Don't you wonder who the gates are keeping out (or in???).  Have a nice day.

Yeah, I spent some time there. Not for me. Although, easy on the town, sheesh. The town may not be extremely ethinically diverse, but I don't think it's exactly as extreme as "ethnically pasteurized". At least no more than any other suburb or gated community in VA. It's been the way it has been for years.

You choose to live in Arlington. Home of Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn, and Cheesecake Factory. And no affordable single family homes.

And if there weren't criminals roaming the streets, there wouldn't be gated communities.

This is bound to change. The Hispanic and Black people will mostly have 5-6 kids by the time they are 30, and the overeducated white people will wait until they are 40 to have 1.2 kids, and in many cases, none at all. At least that's what Reggie White told me.

Nope, I don't live in Arlington.

Gated communities are popping up all over the McLean/Great Falls area.  One that made me laugh the most:  About 1 l/2 mile outside the beltway on Georgetown Pike on the right called something like "Georgetown Falls..."  Bands of roving criminals?  Maybe bands of roving deer and racoons...At Tyson's the Rotunda complex of condos is locked down tighter than the Pentagon...try getting in there even when you're "cleared" by a resident...and we thought "elitist pricks" were exclusive to the 930 forum.  :p

It might be worth pointing out that not ONE of our families "came" from here.  Recent digs in the midwest found artifacts from earliest Indian settlements startlingly similar to objects: art, carvings, tools - found in Mexico, Central and South America...maybe the 'ole American Indians aren't so "USA American" either...

1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW.
Check in with the guard at the gate.
