Why?  Dare I ask the indie community what is wrong with Snow Patrol?  Loved the album as soon as I heard it.

Hope theyre better than Doves who were really lackluster in my opinion.  Did not meet my expectations.

I saw Snow Patrol when I was out in SF a few weeks back and they put on a very....average show. Don't get me wrong - I like their music but there really isn't anything special about the CD or their live show.

Having said that, I *will* be at the show tonight. And at the risk of going off topic (again) I'll concur that Doves were nothing special last night. I think Snow Patrol will be far more interesting...Or at least draw a more attractive crowd (eg. less of a sausage fest than the Doves show was).

While I'm very excited about the show, I can see what you mean.  Each Snow Patrol show I've seen has been less interesting than the one before, which would put this one at pretty "meh"....Still, 'Final Straw' is one of my favorite albums of the last few years, so I always enjoy hearing the songs again.  And Gary Lightbody smiles adorably while he sings, which I find extraordinarily endearing.

Yeah, why were the Doves so weak last night.  Jaysus, I'm really pissed I wasted the $20 on them.  Do those two dudes know how to play their guitars?  It was a waste of time and money.  I kept on phasing out then coming back and thinking I was watching the Flaming Lips while Mercury Rev was on.  Overall, an trip to the 9:30 that wasn't worth it.

Drat, I was hoping for a "sausage fest" this evening.  But it will probably be all shrieking spray-tanned Virginia girls taking pictures with their damn camera phones and stampeding over me in their rush to make it back to the metro/safety/virginia before midnight.  What's a single Snow Patrol lovin' chick to do?

i think some people don't like snow patrol because -- as the brits say -- they're for bedwetters ... they play straightforward unchallenging (sometimes syrupy) britpop, and i guess some people don't like that

this isn't my opinion, just what i've gathered from all the haterz out there

oh, and that song "run", yeah ...

I'll be there (2nd night out of 6 for me). Wish I could clone myself so I can see Andrew Bird at Iota as well
