just lissen "Running With the Devil" is all: there is desperation, a sense of rock and roll predestination, a sense of fate, that is overpowering. They needed abandonement like only a few Cali bands that came before (it makes sense that the Minutemen covered 'em). It's like someone who drinks too much: if they don't get to a point where they mistrust their own balance, they haven't gone far enough. And the first two Halen records are amazing examples of a band whose balance was so great that they could push themselves over the edge and have a blast recovering. Not that anyone said Halen wasn't great. I'm not saying, I'm just saying.
and oh yeah, their singer did a great imitation of a cheetah in heat getting pounded from behind. And that's worth something.... even if he got more pussy than he deserved. Where's my blog?
