Good Charlotte's girl troubles
« on: June 20, 2003, 03:50:00 pm »
I noticed that Good Charlotte was on the cover of Teen People with the headline "Good Charlotte's Girl Troubles." Didn't have time to read the article, as it was my turn at the checkout. I know some of y'all know these guys rather intimately. Can someone fill me in on the details of their problems?

Did they have girl trouble back then?

The graduated from high school? That's not very punk rock.

From what I can remember, they didn't have troubles with much of anything.  Pretty popular kids, actually.  Of course they'd like you to think that they were abused and misused now...but I remember who the unpopular kids were and it wasn't them.

Would them being uber-Christians/Young Lifers also detract from their Punk Rockness?   ;)

I can vouch for thier un-punk rock ways first hand as well.
I'll give one example: is going to the hairdreser to dye your hair orange punk rock?  I didnt think so

It'd be really nice if the Post did a big article tearing them a new one for being complete fakes, but they already have a show on MTV, so I guess cred isn't really an issue for them anymore.

not that i think you really care, but just to humor the question:

joel is engaged, billy has a longtime girlfriend, paul has been seeing the same girl for a while, chris has a girlfriend, and i'm pretty sure benji is single now.

in other words, don't believe everything you see in teen people.  that should come as a surprise to noone.

some people have a good reason not to like them.  Do you ever wonder why not much of the local music scene supports them? I mean, we know HFS does, but they would support Satan for money and listeners. But when is the last time GC has played a special show just for DC/Baltimore/Waldorf?  I know a band from Boston like this....Godsmack.
