I do enjoy Tom Waits' songs. I just prefer them when they're sung by better singers, like Rod Stewart and Scarlett Johannsen.

And Nick Cave? I guess his music beats his dreadful screenwriting. That's something positive I can say!

Rhett Miller overrated? I didn't even realize he was rated. Certainly not like the two aforementioned critics darlings.

Anybody have any advice on a safe bank to move my savings account to before my bank and the FDIC tanks?

I had a really great time last night. Great set list (though I really wanted to hear "Do You Love Me?") and great energy with the crowd too. Now about the second encore, we were all cheering a lot, and the music just came on out of nowhere. Pretty much it felt like the club or somebody other than the crowd killed the chance for a second encore.

After the show, I managed to get Nick Cave to sign my Bad Seeds best of album cover. Some guy who works for the band took my album and got Nick to sign it for me. I joked to the guy when he asked for my name, I said "Nick could write a love letter on the cover for all I care" which is what Mr. Cave kinda did  :)

I wish I could go tonight, but I have class that I can't afford to skip. The nice thing is that I talked to a few people who got to meet him and they said he told them that he's hoping to tour the states again either next year or in 2010.

As far as Westerns go, I really liked The Proposition.

if you don't have confidence in the FDIC, you're probably best off withdrawing all your money and hiding the cash under your mattress.  if the FDIC goes down, not sure that the US dollar will be worth much anyways

It's in a close race with Harold and Kumar Go To Guantonomo Bay as the worst waste of two hours of movie viewing in my Netflix history.

At least Harold and Kumar had some nudity.

Are you sure you watched the right movie?  Because I thought it was great.

as long as your savings account is under, what, $200,000 now, the government is guaranteeing that money.

as for safe banks. . wells fargo is pretty good, they are one of the more conservative banks out there. . .but, like hutch said, the worst thing is to do is to panic.  kept our money in wamu, and they got bought by jp morgan, which is fine with me. . .i mean, jp morgan himself staved off various panics in 1896 and 1906.
