The Broken West - Now or Heaven

Rapidly growing on me... It's got an interesting Post Punk influenced sound to it

Hmmm...what have i listened to lately?

I'm loving the new Josh Rouse best of the Rykodisk Years collection.

I'm on the fence in the new Blitzen Trapper album.

I like the new Okkervil River, but not as much as the last one.

I like the new Calexico album much more than their previous album.

The new Lambchop gets boring quickly.

The new Broken West album hasn't grown on me, it's still boring.

The new Jenny Lewis kinda sucks.

I like the new Walkmen album alot. Almost sertainly on my top 10 list.

I just got the Pink Martini's debut from 1997 and like it alot.

I think the Lykke Li album may be a grower.

Have you heard the new Giant Sand yet?

I enjoyed it during the one spin I gave it.

And yet three says was long enough for it to grow on you.

It's been playing on the Merge site for longer than that.

I did hear it, it didn't really do it for me. Though admittedly, I only zipped through samples of each track.

I think he's one of those guys who I can recognize as doing quality stuff, but I've never completely gotten into them.

no it means that since i got it on tuesday that i've listened to it enough times to from hmmmm not so sure about this...  to yeah it's sounding like a definite keeper....

plus, the early listens weren't under the most ideal conditions, low volume and distracted a work,

listening to it while driving to work today was the clincher... in fact i test drive lots of music in the car, as it really is the best place where i can focus most of my attention to it.

Gang Gang Dance - Saint Dymphna

The more electronic/dancier sound works for them.

I was a huge fan of The Virgins EP, for some reason I wasn't so big on their LP though.

For some reason I've had "Hospital Beds" by the  Cold War Kids stuck in my head all effing day.

And that is what Im listening to now.

Squarepusher - Just a Souvenir

So so so so so so good.

Easily eclipses his last one which I loved as well.

Now he just needs to tour again. And if he does tour to support this album, he'd need a drummer. And Brian Chippendale is the only drummer right for the job; so many of these drum tracks sound like they were produced  with him in mind.

The Hawk is Howling - Mogwai

I generally hate seeing a band when I haven't heard the new album, but it's streaming on their   MySpace  page now.  Holy shit, Batcat is killer.
