SO not just "chick" music. This stuff rocks so hard.

I'm loving the new Super Furry Animals record. How was I ignorant to this band until now? Maybe I had them confused with Supergrass and Superdrag, neither of which I like.

getting amped up for tonight:

apparently these guys didn't get the memo that the 90's rave scene, and associated frenetic breakbeat, is dead.  this album could have come out 12 years ago (although the production is cleaner than some of their past efforts).  surprising amount of guitar in there.  definitely recommended if you're a fan of the band, but they really need to lay off the repetitive nonsense lyrics.

i'll file this one under "temporary guilty pleasure" - fun running music and it'll be a great show.

Tommy Keene because I just heard he's playing, but before that Black Dahlia Murder. Weird, right?

the new reissue of ten by pearl jam.  at first i say, wow bucko . . . way to bring an album back from the dead and breathe incredible life into it with a sound so brilliant you can taste the notes.  and the bonus songs and unplugged stuff are indeed a delight.  then i think, wow fucko . . . way to ruin a generational classic perfection the first time it was released.  are you never happy with what you got?  finally i just go, "shut the shit up you idiot," and listen to a great reissue.

was so curious about this one.  and sweet, no form of any music ever goes out of style.  somewhere there are people with binkies in their mouth, fucked up on tina and molly, wondering where their glowsticks are.

Nerdcore hip hop of the (mainly) otaku variety from Washington state.  CD packaging was a DVD case, hence the non square cover pic.

Terra Diablo, an absolutely fabulous band that has played 9:30 a few times at least. They need support from us indie-minded rock listeners, 'cause they will never make it with the big stack mainstream corporate rock syndicate.

Wooden Shjips "Dos"
Brand new album. Still very repetitive fuzz psych, with nods to Loop, Suicide and Spacemen 3 throughout, and a heavy Neu! feel at times

the awesome psych of Magic Lantern's
"High Beams".
