Currently listening to:
Kings Of Leon "Because of the times":
guys, why?  you're trying way too hard.  dudes, just be you.
Art Blakey "Buhaina's Delight":  Yes!  THIS is how it SHOULD sound!
Ratatat "Classics":  I don't think I can pump my fist any more without getting cramps.  Awesome.
Cranes "Loved":  You make me want to slice my wrists...where am i?...and I love you for it!

 The Ghost You Left Behind

Very good from the 1st track to the last!
"Driverlights" is still my favorite track.

Picked this up on your recommendation and it's great. Damned if I can come up with a description of it or comparisons to other bands. Some of the tracks sound like a mellow Muse, some sound like early Radiohead, there's some shoegaze elements, Kent and Doves came to mind. Anyway, good call. [/b]
Cool. Glad you like it. I'm missing the Radiohead and Muse comparisons but not disagreeing either. Definitely hear the Kent and maybe some Doves. A more playful Mew too. One song always makes me think of Ultravox. That's Tomas' influence. Definitely some Shoegaze but only in a light weight manner. Much more melodic and lyrical than most Gaze.

Btw Relaxer, pull the little booklet out and go to the last page and read the portion in the lower right corner. At least, the top line. Will explain once you read it. There is much more to it than meets the eye.

Great random album I got turned on to. This is how allmusic puts it:

"If Exene Cervenka hooked up with the Jesus and Mary Chain, they all got wrecked on cheap malt liquor, and they jammed together for a few hours, you might get something that closely resembles Space and Time."

That's a fair description. Super garage-y and scuzzy, with random off-beat horns, loud guitars, pounding piano, 'Waiting for the Man' drums, and a singer that wails kind of like the Detroit Cobras.

Streaming this from their MySpace page.  It's pretty awesome so far.
When did they become The JAMC? Well, just on a few songs actually. Good stuff, nonetheless...

this is such a greaet album. They have a new one out too.  Canada's most underrated band.  they have a weird, Built To Spill, Broken Social Scene kinda feel to em.     <img src="http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/P/B0009S2T4S.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg" alt=" - " />

Japanther -- Skuffed Up My Huffy

Sounds like a modern version of the first couple Ramones albums, with weird samples, beats and blasts of distortion and noise alongside the simple riffs and Joey Ramone vocals.
