A new album hasn't hit me like this in a while... great listen.
Can confirm, good stuff!
He is channeling Robert Palmer IMO

^this is giving me all the feels

Exactly my favorite music. That fine time of Brazilian tropicalia and post tropicalia…a few songs by tropicalia’s two greatest songwriters Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil

Lanny sometimes referred to as Brazil’s Hendrix kills it

And Gal …man it’s hard to not fall in love… she absolutely tears it up

This is a 2018 reissue that sounds great

One of my absolute favorites… I used to have a fantastic copy but it disappeared probably stolen from person I left my records with

After 20 years bought one on discogs…I am a pig in shit…I just didn’t want a reissue

Yes it was over graded but it plays great mainly… with an Argentine seller I was worried it would be trashed

You think the Specials were an influence on early fabulosos Cadillacs before they got all into Latin American music? This came out in 1987 when I did about six months in an actual Argentine high school and this was one of the records..produced by Andres Calamaro (my favorite musician)

"On September 3, Tuff Gong and Mercury Studios are proud to present this concert (almost 50 years after it was recorded): Bob Marley And The Wailers: The Capitol Session ‘73 on DVD+CD, standalone CD, 2LP pressed on green marble vinyl, 2LP pressed on Rasta swirl vinyl (red, yellow, and green – available exclusively at Sound of Vinyl), and digital formats."

Rasta swirl vinyl!!!

It's quite....amazing.

been listening to this on repeat all day and love it
just found out there is video footage and they are showing it thru prime on the coda collection (?!)
https://codacollection.co/

..what is weird is Disney was responsible for uncovering this

https://www.billboard.com/articles/news/9622934/bob-marley-wailers-capitol-session-73-lost-footage/

1973 was quite a year for bob
interesting how it all came together

The Wailers were booked for 17 dates opening for Sly and The Family Stone beginning in October 1973, but they only performed on four shows before they were fired because they didn't connect with Sly's audience. Stranded in Las Vegas, The Wailers called Jamaican attorney Gus Brown who brought them to San Francisco, where they performed a pair of shows before reaching out to Cordell and traveling to Los Angeles.
The Wailers closed-door shoot at L.A.'s Capitol Tower took place on Oct. 24, 1973

So it's live, but no audience small invited audience
probably why it sounds soo good

There is tape from a radio session that same time (KSAN) and it sounds amazing…some of it is on the Talkin Blues compilation which really makes a mess of things by including clips from a Marley interview between songs

I think Bunny Wailer had already left but Tosh is with band

can confirm...article states bunny left before the tour and tosh was to leave shortly after this
but what a time between catch a fire and Burnin' and signing to Island
Must have been a real let down to get dropped by Sly on a big US tour, but in the end, didn't seem to change the course

I am looking forward to rolling up a big one and watching the video of this tonight
the audio is just amazing and that there is good footage too seals the deal

yeah was tempted to buy the green vinyl, but $47 was kinda steep

yeah... not dropping $50 on one LP and Bob's family doesn't need anymore money from me, so I'll stream through Spotify (Hi Hutch!).

What's coda collection?
