I've always maintained that One Foot In the Grave is my favorite Beck album (and easily in my top 5 albums ever...that's just how I roll).  In fact, I used to be an uber-Beck fanboy back in my day, but over the years, my interest in him has severely dropped off.  I'll still buy his records, but it's just not like it was anymore.

I've always assumed it was me that changed, but listening to these brand-new old recordings on the deluxe edition has made me realize it wasn't me, Beck, it was you.

Here's the long-awaited 2nd album (6th if you count their experimental CDR
releases) from Circulatory System, featuring all of the members of The Olivia
Tremor Control as well as members from Neutral Milk Hotel and The Music Tapes!
The album is called "Signal Morning" and will be out in August on Cloud
Recordings.

the fame went to the ego, and the ego makes shitty music.  i love how so many people say his last album was his best.  what the f ever reviewers.  and how much $$ were you paid to say that.  "ooh, ooh danger mouse . . . . must be good."

i've listened to this 3 times in row, it's such a great song:

Here comes Alina with two black eyes, she's given herself a transfusion
She's filled herself with panda blood to avoid all the confusion
I said the sun rises and falls with you, and various things about love
But a rising violence in me cut all my circuits off
Well, Alina, she starts screaming, her cheeks are full of psychotropic leaves
Her extinction was nearly absolute when she turned her back on me

Whoa, I listened to Dig Lazarus Dig all the way through this morning. No News from Nowhere, We Call Upon the Author and Hold on to Yourself are awesome tunes.

Right now I'm listening to Grails Doomsdayer's Holiday.

I'm totally into this. I'm only bummed out by Show Stopper and I Feel Cream because I feel like they should crescendo and go big. But they're still awesome songs, this is the first Peaches album I'm really really into. She got some badass producers for this one, and who knew she could actually sing?

I'm late in grabbing these, but I'm into them:

As much as Fucked Up is growing on me, I think Pink Eyes is a little limited as a vocalist. If he could throw in a melody once in a while, I think the record would be that much stronger. Right now the Cold War Kids one I keep going back to. Oh, and this is just an awesome summer record:

I tried to get into that Fucked Up album but never could. It did, however, lead me to their previous album Hidden World and that one is all kinds of awesome.

The other day while randomly surfing the waves I stumbled on a download of Cheap Trick's In Color, re-recorded in 2002 with Steve Albini but never released or anything. And it is awesome.

Thanks for the tip on the 1st Fucked Up LP, Relaxer. I always enjoy hearing what other people's thoughts are on this stuff. And the Cheap Trick Albini-produced record sounds like an awesome idea. It always amazes me what stuff Albini digs. I never did have a chance to peruse his massive wall(s) of LPs.
