Fight breaks out at Boston Pops concert

BOSTON, Massachusetts (AP) -- Concert-goers, and even Boston Pops conductor Keith Lockhart, were caught off-guard when a fight broke out on opening night at usually sedate Symphony Hall.

Television video of the fight Wednesday night showed two men struggling in the balcony -- one with his shirt pulled off -- as several people stood around them.

Lockhart briefly halted the performance, which featured singer-songwriter Ben Folds, while the men were escorted out.

Former Creed singer charged with assault

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Former Creed frontman
Scott Stapp was arrested at his home and charged with assault related to domestic violence.

Stapp was charged with one count of domestic assault with intent to commit a felony Sunday and was being held without bond, according to a Palm Beach County Jail official who was reached by telephone and would not give her name.

No one was injured and no one was taken to the hospital, said Paul Miller, a Sheriff's Office spokesman.

Miller declined to identify the victim and said he had no information about any physical violence.

"We don't know exactly what occurred here," said Miller.

It wasn't immediately known if Stapp had an attorney.

Stapp, 33, was married a year ago last February at the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami to former Miss New York Jaclyn Nesheiwat.

Nesheiwat declined to comment Sunday night.

"It's just a rough time," she told The Palm Beach Post.

Stapp's former band, Creed, sold more than 25 million records in the United States. He has since launched a solo singing career.

Miller didn't immediately respond to phone messages left on his cell phone and at his office after hours by The Associated Press. Stapp's manager did not immediately return an e-mail seeking comment or a telephone message left at his office after hours.

Boy, she's a big ol' coke monkey, isn't she?

Lindsay Lohan suspected of DUI after crash

BEVERLY HILLS, California (AP) -- Lindsay Lohan was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Saturday after her convertible struck a curb, and investigators found what they suspect is cocaine at the scene, police said.

Lohan, 20, and two other people were in her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 when it crashed on Sunset Boulevard around 5:30 a.m., Sgt. Mike Foxen said. It appeared Lohan was speeding, Lt. Mitch McCann said at an afternoon news conference.

Officers at the scene found a "usable amount" of a drug tentatively identified as cocaine, McCann said. He declined to say where the drug was found other than to say Lohan was not carrying it.

Lohan, who spent time at a rehabilitation center earlier this year, was driven in another car to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, McCann said. The two other people in her car were not hurt.

Officers received a 911 call about the accident and arrested Lohan at the hospital for investigation of misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, McCann said.

She was released from custody because she was admitted to the hospital, police said.

Lohan will have to appear in court to answer the citation, first reported on the Web site of X17 Inc., a celebrity photo agency.

The crash was Lohan's third accident in about two years. In October 2005, Lohan and a passenger suffered minor injuries when her convertible hit a van in West Hollywood. Authorities said the van driver, who also received minor injuries, was at fault.

Months earlier, Lohan collided with a minivan when she made a U-turn as the van, carrying paparazzi, followed her from a Los Angeles restaurant. A photographer was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon, but prosecutors declined to charge him.

That crash was credited with prompting Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to sign a law that set steep financial penalties for paparazzi who commit assaults while trying to obtain celebrity photos.

Lohan publicist Leslie Sloane Zelnik did not immediately return an e-mail requesting comment.

Lohan said in January that she had checked into a rehabilitation center for substance abuse treatment. Her publicist confirmed in December that the actress was attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

Lohan told Allure magazine during an interview for its May issue that she decided to enter the secluded Wonderland Center at the suggestion of her therapist.

"It's so weird that I went to rehab. I always said I would die before I went to rehab," Lohan told the publication.

Lohan's latest movie, "Georgia Rule," is in theaters now. The actress's other screen credits include "Mean Girls," "Bobby," "A Prairie Home Companion" and "Freaky Friday."

Musician Uncle Kracker Jailed On Sex Offense Charge In Raleigh

"The arrest warrant stated the arresting officer had probable cause to believe that Shafer 'unlawfully, willfully and feloniously did engage in a sexual act other than vaginal intercourse' by force and against the accuser's will."

Absolutely shocking.

Pete Doherty arrested in east London

LONDON - Police arrested Pete Doherty on Monday in east London on suspicion of drug possession.

A police spokesman confirmed a 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs and was in custody at an east London police station. Because of police force rules, he could not name the suspect.

Earlier this month, a judge warned Doherty, lead singer of Babyshambles, that he must prove his desire to quit drugs or face a jail sentence for other drug offenses.

Doherty, 28, has admitted possessing crack cocaine, heroin, cannabis and ketamine, as well as to two driving offenses.

Doherty, best known as on-off boyfriend of model Kate Moss, has been undergoing drug treatment under court order because of previous convictions.

No Joke.  It would be more shocking to find him without drugs at any given time.

another example of keeping it real gone wrong?

Rapper Arrested At Miami Strip Club
Police Respond To Fight, Find Rapper Disorderly, Drunk

MIAMI -- Rapper Trick Daddy was arrested after a fight at a strip club early Tuesday, authorities said.

The rapper, whose real name is Maurice Young, was charged with disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest, according to the police report.

Authorities responded to a fight at Tootsie's Cabaret just after 1 a.m. and found Young, who smelled of alcohol, cursing and "threatening staff at the club," the report said. Police repeatedly asked Young to leave the club, but he refused.

When they tried to handcuff him, he also refused and started moving his arms around, according to the report.

He was taken to a hospital where he was treated for injuries from the fight and later transported to Miami-Dade County jail. The rapper's mug shot shows a bloody nose and cheek.

He bonded out for $1,500, a jail spokeswoman said.

It was not immediately known if Young had legal representation.

A Miami native, Trick Daddy's albums include "Thug Matrimony: Married to the Streets" and "Back by Thug Demand."

dunno if ryan adams counts as a celebrity, but i thought he's supposed to have mellowed out since he got on the wagon...

Ryan Adams has meltdown at concert

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota (AP) -- Ryan Adams pitched another fit for a Minneapolis audience, a few years after his last local meltdown.

Throughout a show Thursday night, the 32-year-old singer-guitarist complained about the sound monitors onstage at the State Theatre. At one point, he moved two monitors, his microphone and his guitar pedals.

After 70 minutes he'd had enough. Adams announced "the last song," played it and didn't return for an encore. Many fans stood and booed.

"I don't know what the story was," guitarist Neal Casal told the Star Tribune afterward. "I just play guitar."

In 2003, Adams gave a famously bad performance at First Avenue, a rambling two-hour show where he griped about the sound system, played several songs twice and lambasted local rock legend Paul Westerberg.

I was shocked to see this on CNN.com.  This seems like kind of a non-story.  Granted he didn't play a full show...but 70 minutes?  If the monitors aren't working?  I wouldn't blame him for walking off stage.

I had that same thought. But I'm not one to make fun of people's weight issues.   ;)

One other thing that struck me...she mentioned on her blog that they stayed at a Travel Lodge. What kind of rock star takes his model girlfriend somewhere and stays at a Travel Lodge?
