If the event is booked as "________ presents _________," I'd think so. [/b]
I don't recall seeing KCRW mentioned in any articles about the Pixies when they were in town.

I'm not saying any time should be spent saying what the sponsor is all about, but if the name of the event is "KCRW presents the Pixies", I'd think, just as a courtesy, it'd be listed as "KCRW presents the Pixies," and not "the Pixies."

Then how did you know it was set up by KCRW?

Personally I think Bigyawn should be grateful that the band made the listings at all. They didn't the last cople of times they were in town. I am sure that is all down to bigyawns excellent promotional work.

Of course we're happy. But we could use, and in this case were really hoping for, the press. For future events, not for eprsonal gratification.

I doubt the average person gives a shite who promoted the band that they are about to see. I am sure DC9 willl be impressed if you get a good turnout and all goes well.

Your best chance of promoting bigyawn is the large bigyawn backdrop the band will be performing in front of tonight and the waitresses in breast exposing bigyawn T-shirts handing out drinks on bigyawn coasters.......

Perhaps it "should" be, but I don't believe that is the practice.

Look at the Post's 9:30 listings and note that it lists Talib Kweli and DJ Z-Trip but says nothing of Miller Genuine Draft or Playstation Dual Play.

Big difference between us and KCRW. bigger difference between us and major Breweries. We are a locally-owned tiny promotional/online company that have our name included in all the printed material about this show. All DC9 ads, all posters and flyers for the show. From a journalistic angle, particularly a local one, mentioning who was sponsoring the show seems like a worthwhile thing. And a relevant thing. Thatâ??s all Iâ??m saying.

i agree, it would work well as part of a local story on the show ... totally different than mentioning the liquor company sponsoring a citizen cope show

Yup, good points. The Post and On Tap get mentions for sponsored events.

the promoter should have held the event at a bigger venue.  it was very hot inside dc9, but the band was happy and played almost 2 hrs.

bigger venue was definitely in order. got out of work at 8:30 and called to see if it was sold out before i drove down. sure as shit it was. all these people hopping on the fucking dig bandwagon are really starting to piss me off.
