Did anyone see him on TNT or TBS last night during Demolition Man? I dont know much about him but he seemed like a pretty cool person. Makes me wanna go and buy one of his albums....well i dont know about that. He said he might be coming out with three albums this year, Solo, Old 97's (I think thats the name of the band....i know the 97's part is right) and one with some bass player friend of his. He even laughed about an album he made in High School and was glad that their was only 1000 of them in circulation.

Didn't catch that, but thanks for the info, Guiny.
The bass player friend is probably Murry from the Old 97's. The sometimes perform as a duo calling themselves the Ranchero Brothers. They've never released an album as RB so it would be very cool if they did.
Murry produced the Rhett solo album from his high school days. Apparently, Rhett was really into Britpop in high school, and took on a Bowie-inspired fake British accent that he sang in on that record. Reviews I've read have pretty much agreed that it sucked.

quote:
Originally posted by Guiny:
Did anyone see him on TNT or TBS last night during Demolition Man? Were any of y'all there? I was very happy he did "Wish the Worst" off of Hitchhike to Rhome and "Goin' Goin' Gone" off of Wreck your Life. Most of the songs he did were by request; I'm glad most of the requests were for Old 97's songs.

We will be at Rhett/Neil, though I sort of agreed with the guy at Borders who said
"That was good, I didn't want to see Neil Finn anyway." If I'd known he'd be playing for free, probably wouldn't have bought tickets...

Ah, I looked for you, but didn't see you. Oh well. Yes, that was me in the green coat. Were you there the whole time? I came at the end of "Come Around", the lame single. Was that the first song?
I wanted to ask him about the future of the Old 97's, but alas didn't care to stand in line...

quote:
Originally posted by Fico:
Rhett I was there...
