I don't think there would be as many cows born if farmers weren't deliberately breeding them as quickly as possible for meat production.

course, without cows there would be no milk, cheese, butter, ice cream, jello (mmm, gelatin), etc.  the cows in the central valley are mainly dairy cows anyway, i think.

Yes, I grew up on a dairy farm, and am well aware of the products that result from said business.
