Anybody else counting down the days to Justice?

btw, MEN last Friday at the Black Cat was a great dance party, despite being more than half empty on the mainstage, (because of the rainy night and competition of liberation dance party at DC9?).
 
 The ex-LeTigre members at the laptop without the faux-Marshall's really engaged the audience.  Everyone really danced *despite* their ample space.

I am soooo mad, I had tix to the Soulwax show and I completely forgot about til I saw the tix two days after the show... ugh!

That was the looniest, most eclectic crowd I've ever seen. Twelve year olds, senior citizens, ravers, and hipsters...all moshing the shit out of each other. Not to mention a gay:straight ratio of probably 2:1 towards the end of the night.
 
 I enjoyed Busy more than Justice.
 
 And Wale was just a waste of stage time.

T5 is pretty terrible.  actually, not true - it's just souless.  it's the suburban strip mall of concert venue.  it's very shiny and new, cavernous, 3 balconies above the floor which is about 2-3 times as big as the 930's.  feels like the megaclubs you see in the movies - a wall of humanity going straight up 4 stories.  lots of space reserved for VIP areas.  good sound.

Terminal 5 is a decent venue. Ive been there way too many times as of late with every show sold out. Really depends on the band (which will indicate the crowd). Nick Cave had a very different crowd than editors - with people not as pushy when he played. Id imagine Yaz would have a great crowd (id assume a lot of older folk showing up).
 
 Sound has been really good also. Empanada Mama's is now on the 3rd floor (which is apparently being hyped up as theres mention of it quite frequently). There are still plenty of VIP sections roped off - so if you want a great spot on the railing you have to get there early. Great sight lines from the back bar also on the main floor - but it feels like youre a mile away from the stage.
 
 Also - when shows there are sold out - its beyond packed (wall-to-wall people). The side when you walk in tends to not be insanely crowded and theres great sight lines over there. If you have a need to be towards the front - get there early (perhaps an hour before doors).

This is hilarious. Did it ever occur to you that maybe the band decides when they go on and off?  This is like bitching about the "930 Club's photo policy" ..the ARTIST decides this, not the club, and it varies night to night based on what the ARTIST wants.  So the next time instead of being "real dicks" about it, I'll talk to Thatguy about it and maybe he can pull the plug on the artist at 11:45 so that you can catch the metro.

Well, Wale was late, forcing Busy P to come on early and then Wale was squeezed in there and Justice came on in no time after Wale left the stage. I think the club messed up the time because they didnt even have set tiems for Wale, and also Fancy not being there Im sure screwed up the set times too. Either way, Justice killed it.

From the balcony you could clearly see that Justice totally recreates their music on stage. I was blown away, I was pissed I was on the balcony but I actually got tos ee how they were working. They have their light controls in the middle in between them and then each have 2 touch screens and midi controllers under each screen, and in the middle they have a sequence of knobs that Xavier was using heavily which is when I realized that he was actually recreating the music from those knobs and buttons. I was blown away, hate on them as much as you want but I was wayy more impressed once I saw this. Granted they probably had lots of stuff pre-mixed, but ther's sstill a good chunk of teamwork that goes into it to re-produce a lot of music and to improvise.
 
 And what's the point of having 18 extra amps on stage? The show was/is loud enough as it is. If those Marshalls WERE real then people would be bleeding from their ears, and there's no way that those Marshall amps were real at the Terminal 5 shows because they all would have had mics to pickup the sound from them.
 
 Their whole stage set-up is fake, the Amps and giant synthesizer. They've admitted to it... not like it's a huge surprise. It's a show... Did you know Daft Punk's pyramid is only half a pyramid!? ZOMG!

You can say that, Im not gonna argue with you. I love electronica, but believe me the 33 gigs of music on my computer is not entirely electronica. I go to live shows to be entertained and to see my favorite groups live. You people seem to go there JUST to complain about it later. That show was amazing and it was a blast, the least you could say is that you danced a bit. But no you peolpe have to nitpick about everythnig. Yeah, Justice is popular and a ton of people want to see them. You people come off like you're owed your own special tiny little venue when it's just you and your elitist friends or something.
 
 Not to justify anything but my most played bands on my iTunes are as goes: QOTSA, Spoon, Klaxons, M.I.A., Muse, Kings of Leon, Devendra Banhart, and Arctic Monkeys.
 
 So before you go judging a book by its cover, suck a dick.
