Though can I add that if Neko Case doesn't show up, this is going to be one of the greatest collections of homely people onstage in the history of music tours...

Well I'll be the first to say that Neko doesn't do much for me, looks-wise...though I dig her solo music.

But I still wouldn't call her homely. Certainly not a Stuart Murdoch/ A.C Newman level of homely.

From Belle and Sebastian's newsletter today:

Even more urgently, Stuart is the guest on NPR's "Fresh Air",
errm, today. US listeners go to
 http://www.npr.org/templates/stations/schedule/index.php?prgId=13&showNav=1to
find out what time it's on in your neck of the woods. I'm
guessing they archive these things online too. NPR shall also be
broadcasting our show at the 9.30 in DC.

Stuart Murdoch of B&S is a handsome man; he did pull Isobel Campbell for quite awhile, and she's a hot potato.

And Carl Newman is no George Clooney but he's no Philip Seymour Hoffman either. I'm sure he does very well for his pleasure.

You just need a nice looking frontman. Oasis was that and they all have nice houses.

Indeed they are...I'm disappointed that "The Blues Are Still Blue" is the next single, I think it's the weakest song off of the new record. But I bet they'll play "Funny Little Frog".

We saw the show in NYC Friday night.

New Pornographers are still really, really, really bad. Painful to watch.

Belle and Sebastian were good at times, boring at others. Not a good song selection. Maybe they played all the good stuff on Thursday.

My wife fell asleep during both bandss.

There are assholes in NYC crowds, just as there are at DC shows. Two drunk teens came up and sat behind us. When the band launched into Judy and the Dream of Horses (one of the highlights), the boy teen yells, "This is why I love these guys. ROCK ON!" He then proceeded to kick wy wife's seat from behind for five minutes, as my wife held herself and myself back from turning around and grabbing him and strangling him.

I dunno...hopefully not. I'm not taking any chances, though a little earlier would be good. I'm getting old!!

But it helped keep her awake, so it wasn't all bad, right? Light a candle; don't curse the darkness.
