oh my GOOD GOD. the show was AWESOME.
other than the fact that we got there at 5:30 in the cold rain to attempt to get the tickets that they wouldn't give us until 7:30, and had some time to kill (and then the show didn't even start till after 9)...it was great. there was barely anyone there at first, but it eventually filled up and it was fabulous. a bunch of people were able to come in for soundcheck, so that was really cool.
Irving opened, and i was so glad they finally came over here...they really have that Silverlake thing down so well - remind me a lot of the earlier stuff by The 88.
and then Voxtrot were fabulous, as well. both had us dancing the entire time
they played...i think...everything off of both EP's (except now that i think about it, i'm pretty sure they didn't play Long Haul, but i don't really remember...they might have?), plus two even newer things. it was a short but very, very good set. they were extremely charismatic and had a lot of fun with us, and were really nice guys (who even apologized, profusely--multiple members--for not getting down here sooner). i bet they sell out the Cat whenever they get back here. but it will be well worth while...
