Wonder if  bearman ended up at the Miki Berenyi / Gina Birch show or not.  I thought about going, but while I enjoy their albums flaked out.  Turns out that Gina's band is having visa issues and she at least in NYC was playing backed by a laptop.

I did...full confession, she's a friend and since she said gave me a shoutout from the stage, I don't think she'd be too upset for repeating this here. I ended up making her and Ollie dinner on Thursday night, and I took care of getting them rides when they landed. It was super stressful for her, and for Moose (who barely made soundcheck after flying in from London). I'm really glad that I was able to give them a chill evening to come down a bit after the stress of dealing with visa issues, and happy that at least it worked out for them...but it was looking really iffy there for a moment. That was probably the last time I'll get to see one of her shows in the US, and it was bittersweet. It was a lot of fun though...I know I'm biased, but to me Miki is a bit of an icon. If you haven't read her book, it's really fantastic.
