I was quite proud of my Mother and Grandmother.  Two lifelong Republicans born and raised in Ohio went for Kerry.

Now looking into the future. Can we expect a more humble Bush Administration or are we going to face the same arrogance we have seen these first four years?

Just hoping there is someone with common sense in the current or future administration.

Worse. He was Re-Elected. He won the popular vote. It's like an endorsement that everything he's done is o.k.: "hey...they like me!"

I wish all American citizens would have a mark on their forehead this morning - red, blue, or green (non-voters.) It would help me tremendously as I move through life during the next 4 years.

After the next terrorist attack watch how difficult it is to find someone who voted for Napoleon

I felt so sorry for a woman who called into the Gerry Ryan show (radio) this morning. She's an American living in Ireland and was literally in tears because it looks like knobhead got in again. She said she was ashamed and embarrassed at what her country have done during his reign.

Most of the callers were Irish and thought it hilarious that he got in again, but Gerry reminded them that after the laughing is over, the reality of another 4 years of him is nothing to laugh at.

The rest of the world is laughing and pitying you now, and afraid of what he'll do next.

America has no respect in the world anymore, and that's the truth.
What makes the situation even worse, is that unlike the past four years, Bush has nothing to lose; there is no re-election campaign to worry about. Which means he can be an over the top racist, sexist, gun-toting, my dick is bigger than your dick, the religous right is the only way mother fucker, and no one can really hold him accountable. Hell, he already was a pretty blatant example of all of those things already and we didn't hold him accountable. I am personally embarassed by the people in this country. I hope the shits hit the fan, farmers suffer, the stock market crashes, oil prizes rise to unseen levels. Fuck Bush and Fuck the millions of morons in this country who voted for him. No one ever said Kerry was gonna solve our problems, but at least he would stop us from going down the slippery slope to the People's Republic of Bush. You elected him America, I hope you are willing to hold yourself accountable for his actions.

AP: Bush Wins Race As Kerry Concedes

4 minutes ago   Politics - AP

By CALVIN WOODWARD and RON FOURNIER, Associated Press Writers

WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites) won a second term from a divided and anxious nation, his promise of steady, strong wartime leadership trumping John Kerry (news - web sites)'s fresh-start approach to Iraq (news - web sites) and joblessness. After a long, tense night of vote counting, the Democrat called Bush Wednesday to concede Ohio and the presidency, The Associated Press learned.

Kerry ended his quest, concluding one of the most expensive and bitterly contested races on record, with a call to the president shortly after 11 a.m. EST, according to two officials familiar with the conversation.

The victory gave Bush four more years to pursue the war on terror and a conservative, tax-cutting agenda â?? and probably the opportunity to name one or more justices to an aging Supreme Court.

He also will preside over expanded Republican majorities in Congress.

"Congratulations, Mr. President," Kerry said in the conversation described by sources as lasting less than five minutes. One of the sources was Republican, the other a Democrat.

The Democratic source said Bush called Kerry a worthy, tough and honorable opponent. Kerry told Bush the country was too divided, the source said, and Bush agreed. "We really have to do something about it," Kerry said according to the Democratic official.

Kerry placed his call after weighing unattractive options overnight. With Bush holding fast to a six-figure lead in make-or-break Ohio, Kerry could give up or trigger a struggle that would have stirred memories of the bitter recount in Florida that propelled Bush to the White House in 2000.

At least you have a choice, and can leave/work elsewhere if you choose to.

I know a lot of us today would like to be able to say that.  :)
