Everybody but Julian (who clearly not over it yet) should read this great article on
The Fall of the House of Clinton. There will be many books written about this, but why read the book when you have such a good Cliff Note?
Tough to argue with these three points:
(1) She ran "the establishment choice" campaign in a year of change.
(2) She ran a 1990's campaign in the 21st century.
(3) Like the failed campaign of Rudy Giullianni, you can't run a campaign focusing on only the big states and all but ignoring the small states.
I think the real book in this going to be the story about the severe disagreements between Mark Penn and Harold Ickes and how much of a distraction that turned out to be when the rug was being pulled out from beneath them.
