First one, no. Second one, yes, although less so than the first season.

First one, no.

your right to adjudicate what is and isn't prestige television is hereby revoked.

frankly, i would have thought the budget alone would have convinced you.

specially as she just got herself an Electric Mini Cooper.
this is good news
GM, along with EVgo and one of the country's biggest gas-station and rest-stop operators, plans to install 2,000 EV chargers in 50-mile intervals along U.S. highways.

I'm not taking the wife's Mini anywhere that isn't a local commute.  With a range of 114 miles, it would double the time of my drive to, to say, LA (400 miles).  The good news is 99.9% of our driving is less than 60 miles a day (my office is 30 miles from my home).

That being said, the "problem" of chargers is keeping many folks from buying electric vehicles, so this is welcome news.  However, if you really wanted to sell more EVs fix the problem of renters and street parkers not being able to charge.  The highway problem is far less of a problem then people who can't park their cars in a garage overnight to charge.

this really is a problem and no idea what the solution would be

right now only those who have driveways and own their home can get an EV...so a huge part of the population have no option. I even have a driveway, but we have two cars.  So I park in the street daily.  I don't know how I'd do an EV for that, can't run a power cable over the sidewalk

I have always thought the exchange/swap of batteries was the way to go
but that would require standards and I don't see that happening

Three people on my block park their Tesla's on the street and run a cord along the sidewalk from the outlets on their front porch every week. To be fair, its a street parking area where people GENERALLY can park directly in front of their house more days than not, which is a bit unicorn-ish but I do see this.

I do wonder if they installed 240 volt outlets on their front porch, because if they're using just regular outlets they're getting about 4 miles of range per hour (level 1).  In my eyes, that's not worth the liability of running an electrical cord across a sidewalk.  Level 2 at about 12 miles of range per hour would be wholly different.  Of course VA is also very much less litigious than CA.

how do you do this and not create a tripping hazard
gotta imagine it's illegal to run a power cord 'semi-permanently across a city sidewalk

Im sure it’s likely illegal but no one seems to care. I’ve thought of doing it myself.
