I had chills during "Better Man."  If they'd played "Nothingman," I no doubt would have passed out.  I've never seen that one performed.....
 
 They put on an amazing show, with 20,000 fans who know all the words to every song....I'm barely a fan in relative terms!  I loved that the show was at Verizon Center, too.

saw them saturday, saw them last night....
 
 music aside, PJ has become our generation's Grateful Dead.
 
 year after year, seeing them live - and more importantly - seeing the band/audience dynamic floors me.
 
 Their discs aren't always my top picks, but i have to say they are possibly one of the all-time best live acts.
 
 I can't put my finger on it, butout of all the shows I see, nothing ever compares.

 My silliest rule/encounter:
 
 Up to the counter to get a bottle of water.
 
 "I'd like a bottle of water."
 
 Saleslady: "Would you like a cup with that?"
 
 Bags:"I'd rather not, I'd rather have it in the bottle."
 
 Saleslady:  "Then I can't sell it to you.  You have to take it in a cup."
 
 Bags:  "Well, if that's how I must take it, then I'm fine with a cup.  You seemed to ask as if it was a choice."
 
 She and odd saleslady next to her look at me as if I've got three heads for the next 90 seconds of the transaction.

They were yelling "Boom" -- for the keyboard player....You mihgt recall that starting "Better Man," Eddie pointed back to Boom and said something like, "we're doing this one a little differently tonight."  Then the 'BOOM, BOOM, BOOM' chanting began...

the other "silly" rule was for the people on the main floor who were told to stay behind the pink tape on the floor or be ejected....  i sure it wasn't all the silly as to prevent bumrushing of the stage, but that it was stated on several occasions and referred to as a tour rule.

 I'm not sure if you need to be a fan club member or not...but it's so worth it. You'll be amazed @ how good the boots sounds: nary a missed note. It sounds like they've culled the best bits of a year long tour.
 
 You can get a cheaper MP3 version or a FLAC version (boots used to be avail 30 minutes after the show - I guess FLAC processing takes longer thus the couple day wait now.)
 
 So glad all liked the show...I can't wait for Pitt & Cinci.

I think the reason Pearl Jam puts on such a great show is that have a number of songs which really work great in a live setting. For starters "Do The Evolution", "Given To Fly", Animal, Even Flow, Alive .  They then have an extensive catalog of material they can swap in and out between shows in part I'm sure to keep it from being boring for themselves.  It's also a better show when Vedder isn't feeling the need to solve all the world's problems and he keeps the yack to a minimum.  
 
 So when are they coming back for a proper two night stand in DC?  You know where I'll be
