The aforementioned pitchfork article:

how does this itunes presale work? do you have to buy the record through itunes, or is there a password that can be shared with the board?

 thanks!

If you didn't buy the new record via itunes, then you're out of luck. The password can only be used once...it's unique.

Yeah, I should have mentioned that...the pre-sale is for the folks who pre-ordered Easy Tiger from the iTunes Music Store. So, you can't go buy it now from iTMS and get a password.

But chin up, there's another pre-sale next Thursday (8/9), so my guess is the general sale will happen soon after.

Highly recommend checking out this tour. (Not that I'm biased in the least.) The show in Portland was incredible. The band played so well, the vocal harmonies were insane, and Ryan is a funny mofo. I can't wait for the audio to start circulating.

The Seattle show could have been better, but I put most of the blame on the members of the audience who decided to yell out random song requests when Ryan was trying to tell a story or when the band was tuning between songs.

How does he go from Sonar last year to Constitution Hall this year?  Its frustrating to see him in a place like that.

This is a proper tour supporting an album...and he's big. I'm sure he'd have no trouble selling out DAR.

what a crock of shit this itunes presale is, i thought presales were a way to reward fans loyalty to an artist rather than a record store . .

You're helping him out by purchasing his music. Besides he could've charged $30 to join a fan club and get a pre-sale password like a lot of bands are doing now.

I don't think they give the best seats at pre-sales anyway.

I saw him at Meyerhoff in Baltimore two years ago and the fit with the venue wasn't that bad- except for his insanity/lack of sobriety leading him to start singing in the middle of the audience.

He's been playing seated venues during the current tour dates and I think it's a good fit for the versions of the songs they're playing live. I attended the 2005 Meyerhoff show, too, and fortunately, Ryan is sober now.

The band is seated and lined up across the stage rather than in the more traditional lead singer standing in front, guitarist on the left, bassist on the right, etc.

Funny how something becomes a "crock of shit" so quickly when someone misses out.
