Ouch.  I think I paid about $20 to see Queen WITH Freddie back in the day.

I know in the rest of the world Queen was outrageously huge.  Can they really pull off big arenas at these prices (without Freddie) in the USA?

The answer Bombay is no, I really don't think they can. I can't imagine Queen without Freddie. He WAS Queen (no pun intended). Not that Brian May isn't a great guitarist, but I don't see that show selling out.

From what I've heard Paul doesn't sing lead on all songs, as Roger Taylor is no slouch on vocals.  He and Brian were after all providing harmonies behind Freddie.  While I doubt it's going to sellout, it will attract those people wanting to hear BR live, (which even when Freddie was around, they used a video for the parts of in concert) and to hear Queen's "biggest" hit "We Will Rock You", heard of course at fine sporting events everywhere.  The thought of a crowd wanting to hear WWRY live, makes my skin crawl...

I'm wondering if it's a Cake thing to put together odd combinations.  A couple years ago the 9:30 club lineup was Detroit Cobras, Cheap Trick and Cake.  That's the great night I had a beer with Tommy Keene down in the BackBar during Cake.

Each year Cake does a tour called Unlimited Sunshine. It's point is to be unlimited in the artists it brings together. Or something like that.

They were so, so, SO good at UofR earlier this year. Will be there. [/b]
There's also a DC show:
 01.28.05 - Washington, DC - TBA

But I plan on going to see Colin Meloy at the Birchmere that night.

ARGH! Why do they have to be playing on the same night?! I already have my Colin Meloy ticket, so no Deerhoof for me.

12/28 - James & Chuck Brown

i have a question...does anyone know anywhere online where the image of the poster/flyer is?  if not, would someone who has a scanner avaiable to them (i obviously do not) be able to scan that image (the godfather one) and post it?  i have a friend out west who'd like really like to show this too.  i could snail mail but ya know...it's the digital age...it's got to be online somewhere.

 thanks in advance.....
