how much variation will there be between the two sets? do they actually empty the club out and then let peopel back in? also, is it just SY playing the second set or is the opening band gonna play too?

Probably not a whole lot. It depends on the artist. Some artists play very different set lists from show to show. Most don't. I've never seen Sonic Youth before, so I don't know what SY's tendencies are with regards to set list variation.

Yes.

I expect the full line-up will play both shows. That's the way it's worked in the past. It's not a second set; it's a second show. They just happen to be on the same night.

Sonic Youth usually plays most of their current record with about 4 or 5 extra songs from other records thrown in.  I'm assuming for the 2nd show, it'll be mostly the same set with 3 or so changes.

I live in the DC area because I'm happy in my job; not for the reason you state.

that would be real nice but i doubt its gonna happen.  yes, goldenvoice does refunds for all their shows.  and that's why we live in DC, and not California. [/b]

i dont get it.   We  live in DC because  California gives out refunds?

   that makes negative sense.

i didn't mean it in that way, sillies.
it was more along the lines of...we live in DC...rather than California...and thus we have no Goldenvoice-awesome-ticket scheming...i guess i should rephrase...

Is the Sonic Youth issue really about wanting a refund or being upset that it didn't turn out the way you had envisioned it?

I'm inclined to give refunds to those that want them

i would've if i had bought tickets. because i cant make early shows in DC, actually.

i dont think anyone ASKED for a refund though, i think one person said "i hate when the 930 club does this"  and i think everyone flipped out.

the rest was either him defending himself or others defending the club, i dont recall anyone asking for one in the first place?

With Sonick posting for me, I guess I'm feeling a little superfluous around here. But thank you, Sonick, for defending me earlier and again in the above posting. I was just going to ignore Shadrach's somewhat condescending response, but you did a better job in replying to that than I could have anyway. I don't want to get into it with the club staph. The 9:30 Club is my favorite venue. That's why I stick around here and that's why I attend ~20 concerts per year there.

Anyway, I don't want to make a big thing out of it. I very much appreciate Seth's offer of a refund. I think that should be standard club policy whenever there's a change in the time of a concert. I'll certainly consider taking the refund over the next day or two.
