Good call Mr. Whippy. I forgot that was Land of Talk at Besnard. I agree they were very weak live.
If you're referencing the show a few months back at the Black Cat, then you're right. For what little it's worth, Liz Powell was suffering from a really bad cold and tried to power through it. I saw LoT/BL a few days later in Philly and she had to cut her set short because her throat was shot.
I've seen LoT several times and while I admit they're not visually engaging, I think Powell is a talented guitarist, singer, and writer. Of course, next to the Besnard Lakes, pretty much everyone pales in comparison.
