I thought the birthday thing he did was supposed to air on NatGeo? Was I thinking of something else?
this photo exhibit is indeed something different and unrelated to his spoken-word b-day thingy. the latter was taped, but i forget if they were going to air it or if this was a 2.16.61 straight-to-dvd production.
P.S. Speaking of National Geographic, Locked Up Abroad and Taboo just might be the two best things TV has going for it right now. Although just once, I want to see a Locked Up Abroad where someone from an Eastern country tells the story of being locked up in the West/"developed" world. Every episode I've seen is the other way around and it kind of reeks of ethnocentrism.
the show is about Us, not about Them. who cares what They go through... we don't relate to Them. We are all about Us, Us, Us. besides, as someone who has had issues entering this country, including hours waiting in depressing INS pseudo-detention rooms, i can assure you it won't make for compelling television
