I interviewed someone once and they had University of Pittsburg on their resume.  I thought if you went to college for four years you could at least spell the name right on your resume.  I told him about the mispelling after the interview and he seemed to take offense.  I was just trying to help.

well I don't know.. seems extra sticklerish to me.. from wiki:

Pittsburgh is one of the few American cities to be spelled with an h at the end of a burg suffix.[35] While named "Pittsburg" from 1890 to 1911 following a declaration by the United States Board on Geographic Names, the "Pittsburgh" spelling was officially restored after a public campaign by the citizens of the city

expecting people to always spell Pittsburg correctly is right up there with expecting everyone to know how to spell Mitylene (AB) or Ypsilanti (MI) (or worse yet, to care about any of these cities...)

There's Pittsburg State in Kansas and the University of Pittsburgh. If you graduated from Pitt and you can't fucking spell Pittsburgh properly 100% of the time, you deserve to have your degree taken away and have your ass kicked for good measure.

A mere ass kicking? That is not enough! I think people who can't spell Pittsburg should be gang raped. For crying out loud spell check will automatically pick it up!
