signature gilmore guitar
AKA the last Pink Floyd song ever. gilmour has previously said that he was done with PF and that there will be no more new music or shows. guess an unjust war was enough to get him to un-retire and get the band back together.
a few weeks ago, the kiffness released a remix of the same vocal:
Ukrainian Folk Song ARMY REMIX | Andriy Khlyvnyuk x The Kiffness. over 5 million view in a month.
the singer, Andriy Khlyvnyuk of the band Boombox (Бумбокс),
dropped out of a US tour to return home to defend Kyiv. he was wounded in a gunfight with the russians just prior to the their retreat. he was hit in the face but will make a full recovery.
the song,
Ой у лузі червона калина (Oy u luzi chervona kalena), is associated with partisans who took up arms to defend Ukraine at the end of WW1 and the chaotic period that followed. it's very appropriate for the volunteer fighters today, they're the modern-day equivalent of who the song was written for.
