Another chance to see burning spear

Fountains of Wayne without Adam  :(

I saw that but it was just as much Chris's band too, as he was there from the start. Plus, he also sang lead all of Adam's wonderful songs.  Jody and  Brian didn't join the band until Utopia Parkway.  Max Collins of Eve6 is filling in on bass, who is the person behind the Eve6 twitter account.

How do you guys keep the release date of every Death Can album in your heads?
I just recall what romantic dalliance I was in the middle of when they came out. I remember most chronological things via personal nostalgia.

FoW without Adam Schlesinger is almost like the Beatles without Lennon, the Doors without Jim Morrison, 10k Maniacs without Natalie Merchant... or maybe it'll turn out just fine, like Pink Floyd without their overrated and annoying bassist (Schlesinger was neither).

Schlesinger wrote a lot of their stuff. I read somewhere that Collingwood was mostly out drunk on Traffic & Weather?
But I'd at least see them even with the Eve6 guy, they were awesome back in the day and have never had a bad album.

So you got a new twin-sized bed in 2008? That year didn't possess your heart?

I recall Jordan and I drinking in a grape vineyard that year, for sure, but it wasn't on fire.

I love Fountains of Wayne, but we left their 9:30 show early because we weren't feeling it live.

Woah... very different experience. I think they played two shows at 9:30 on the WIM tour and we saw the second one, was sold out.

Soooo many new shows being announced this week. Wolftrap obv but also Anthem with about TEN including Alessia Cara  April 8.

I can’t recall Anthem ever announcing this many in a day.

Also Anthem added some verbiage on their website regarding ticket use/transfer to a lot of the about to go on sale shows

Death Cab for Cutie -- Plans
8/2 Seattle, 8/5 Chicago, 8/8 & 8/10 Brooklyn
Nation of Language opening first two shows, American Analog Set second two shows.
This seems like such a waste when they could be doing 25th anniversary shows of their best LP instead 20th anniversary shows of their 6th best LP.

they did the 20th anniversary tour of their best album, NO DISSENT TOLERATED, a year and a half ago.  please and thank you.
A you’re at least referencing one of their top 2-3 albums which is better than Mr. Narrow Stairs over there.

I'm on Team Narrow Stairs all the way. I had just gone through a painful breakup, then saw a bunch of Death Cab shows...and so that record holds a very personal, deep place in my heart. It's a dark record, and it's also got some really upbeat songs too...I can't lie, that one crushes all the others for me, in spite of my love of The Photo Album, Transatlanticism and Something About Airplanes. Did anyone else see the Death and Dismemberment tour at the 9:30?

grateful

The only reason I ever saw DCFC was because I wanted to see the opener, OK Go
