Sounds like someone has a resentment.  Did you check your junk folder?

My wife asked me to relay the message, "Just because he bones me doesn't mean he owns me." to you two camel jockies.

No junk folder on my work email. And judging by how many emails I get trying to sell erectile dysfunction pills, I'm guessing that very little of my email is being filtered out...

Not a big deal...like I said, being proactive keeps me up to date on the club happenings anyway. And I'm not usually in the market for tickets for shows that require passwords.

That made me think of this:

"dumb hoe said somethin that made me mad
she said somethin that i couldnt believe
so i grabbed the stupid bitch by her nappy-ass weave
she started talkin shit, wouldnt you know
reached back like a pimp, slapped the hoe
her father jumped up and he started to shout
so i threw a right cross and knocked his old-ass out
 (CHORUS)
coz the boys in the hood are always hard
you come talkin that trash, well pull ya card
knowin' nutin in life but to be legit'
dont quote me boy coz i aint said shit"

Which means I really, really must stop listening to DC101.

Normally I would agree with the argument that most people are just too lazy to get tickets right away, but not this time.  It's not unreasonable to assume that the band's website has the correct info - particularly when the info was correct for every other show. I wouldn't expect anyone to check tickets.com several times a day, several days before the posted sale date.  I'm sure plenty of the folks that missed out would have gladly camped in front of their computer on Thurday or taken time off of work to stand in line, had they been given the correct info ahead of time.

It certainly pays to be proactive, but I think people have a legitimate gripe about how this went down.

Hahahahahaha.

My wife loves that song. Thankfully, she has yet to figure out who the performer (note I did not say artist) is.

She also wanted to play Tupac when we were, ahem, boning recently, and I just couldn't go for that, no can do.

Good points, Skeeter.

Still, the tickets sold out in three hours. Some people bought them because they wanted to see the show. Some people bought them because they wanted to resell the tickets.

If everyone had known the Thursday time, there would have been that many more people "competing" for tickets. Some of the additional people would have been fans, some would have been resellers. The show would have sold out that much quicker.

Which one are you? Hall or Oates?

Apparently the song is by Eazy- E.

A couple of weeks ago DC101.1 were carrying an add for a prevent violence against women charity. It was great when they played it and the song back- to-back.

Why am I not surprised that Hoya likes Eazy-E?

My original comment wasn't a gripe about not getting tickets--- I did get tickets and I wanted them because I wanted to see the show, not to resell them. I'm just sorely annoyed with the scalpers. I think some things should just be off-limits.

The overall commercialization of modern rock and roll is depressing. From the top of the Corporate Radio heap down to the scalpers, music is becoming more about money and marketing than about making good music every day. Compare the DC radio selections today to even 15 years ago--- back then it was no great shakes, especially when compared to LA or even Baltimore, but now it's utterly devoid of soul and passion. And it really irritates me to see some scalper who did maybe 45 seconds of work to buy some tickets online pocket $350 profit and not have clue #1 about the band, the music, or anything.

My all-time most frustrating scalper experience was in NYC before the Bauhaus show last month. The scalpers wanted $200 a ticket. And they pronounced the band as "Bough-Hoes."  OK, I'll admit I got more than one laugh out of that but it still really irritates me that they can't even bother to learn the band's name!

Who are the white guys performing it that they play on DC 101, though?

What a grand idea for an all-girl goth/hip-hop outfit!
