Hey Seth...

Hey Seth, when are you going to book that Metal Chicken band?  I've seen their video many times on TV of late...they're sort of a cross between Slayer & Gwar.  I'm not sure of the name of the song, but it's something like 'chicken fingers'.  I suspect all the bboard metalheads already know it.

OK, so here's a classic situation...

looked into Chemical Bros as requested

they weren't planning on coming down here...to get them to would require enough money to have to charge $50-$55

 what should I do?

I'd pay $50 to see the Chems if it was a weekend show.

Tell the greedy bastards to fuck off. $55?! And people call Ticketmaster greedy. Some of these bands really outdo Ticketmaster in terms of greediness.

I think plenty of people would pay that much to see them.

I would probably skip them if it was $50.

they will probably come around eventually, either this winter or next spring anyway.

I doubt it would sell out for that much money.

edit: but then again, I have seen them more than 10 times so perhaps its not too much for some.(seeing other responses)

Didn't Fatboy Slim sell out at $35 or $40 earlier this year? I'd think Chemical Bros. with a much smaller tour and rare-r appearences would command $10-$15 more per ticket.

I think it's a close call... the tickets for the Ultra New York thingy are $55 with fees in the presale and they have Oakenfold, Tenaglia and Morillo on the bill too....That *is* 5,000 capacity, but I'm surprised it hasn't sold out yet. If it's on a weekend, perhaps enough people would be willing to pay that amount(all presuming its a live show - not a DJ set of course). Personally though, if I had to choose...I would skip a DC show and see them in NY.

Seth, book away...do it up. You'll sell the place out, make the band happy, and make yourself happy. Most of all, you'll make other people (who have the money) happy. Nobody has to spend the dough if they don't want to. But methinks to see them at the 9:30, plenty of people will.

Yes, my answer was predicated on this as well.

$50-55 AFTER all the charges/fees would be border-line acceptable; if I had to add another $18-20  to that  then there's NPFW; (as in No Possible F**king Way).

Exactly...if they repeat what they did at Coachella complete with mind-blowing visuals, live performance, etc. Not just them spinning records.
