Hey Seth,

A lot has been said lately with Radiohead's recent tour about the ecological costs associated with major tours, particularly at large venues outside the range of mass transit. Recently, I bought tickets for an event at the Charlottesville Pavilion and after selecting the number of tickets I wanted, it offered me the ability to buy a 40cent CO2 offset credit for each ticket, if I chose. It's not a full-scale answer to the environmental questions being raised, by any means, but even the opponents of the CO2-credit system admit it does afford some help (along side the push for car pooling, etc).

I know VFest and Merriweather both pride themself on their green-ness and trying to preserve the natural environment as much as possible. Would it ever be possible to have a similar opt-in system for CO2 offset credits for IMP shows held away from the 9:30 Club, or does ticketmaster make it impossible? Has there ever been any thought to building in money to the ticket cost (like some places charge a "facility fee" in addition to the ticket, well, in this case, an environmental fee), or is this perhaps already happening?

Hey Seth, thanks for the hooks. They are the nice double ones which will be much nicer in the Winter months. Easy to hold the purse and a coat. We appreciate that probably much more than you'll ever know.

Remember back in the Middle Ages when people would buy Papal indulgences from the Catholic Church to absolve themselves of their alleged sins?  CO2 credits are the modern day equivalent.

Tickets already cost enough, we don't need more hidden charges.  If venues offered a shuttle service from other public transit sites, I would opt in to pay for that.

Wow that was fast. Now if only he could book one of the bands I've been half-jokingly asking for in this thread.

Come on...how can you say "no" to
  this?

Weezer is playing the 24th in New York, and the 26th in New Jersey.  I highly doubt if a DC date can be squeezed into that.

I'm very surprised to not see a DC date in that tour schedule.

I think the drummer of that band or look alike with same style opened for the boredoms at the 930 club earlier this year.

He sure did.

 And it was awesome.

I lost one of my earplugs right as he was going on (was standing up front) and found it stuck in between a couple cables after he finished.
