Okay, apparently I don't know how to use this board properly, but I wanted to say that the 3 to 4 feet of empty space that Sweetcell is referring to on the upstairs balconies is actually neccessary to axis our fire exits.  Putting another step-up there would not pass code and wouldn't be too safe four the club's patrons.

 Nice idea though.

What do you mean by "axis our fire exits"? Is that some sort of nightclub lingo?

Hey Seth,

Could you see what can be done to get a Neko Case show on her current tour?

I'll second that. Her show last year at the 9:30 Club was one of my top three favorite shows of 2006.

dearest seth,

i've been a very good boy this year.  i know that i've already exhausted my brownie points, having spent them all with you on LCD Soundsystem and Air.  but if i could take an advance on next year's points, i'd like t put in an order for a dose of Daft Punk.  Apparently they're on tour this summer, and, well, a local appearance would be just swell.

Hey Seth!

Southern Culture on the Skids is playing at Recher in Towson on 5/18. Any chance of a DC show? I know they don't draw enough on their own to fill up the 9:30 and usually open for someone... maybe you can pair 'em up with some like-minded souls? Or a midweek show?

I just hate going to Recher... and coming home is even worse!  What a haul!

Realistically, i don't think they would play 930. Their tour set is a huge pyramid with a gigantic LED Screen behind the pyramid and then like 2/3 of a wall/fence in front of the pyramid. I think 930s stage is way to small to hold their set alone.

That aside, i second this notion either way! Daft Punk would be the greatest show ever to hit 930. I stand by that statement confidently!

true dat, but the cool thing about seth is that he also runs IMP productions, which organizes bigger (non-930) shows... so yeah, i'd be willing to accept the possibility that my dose of daft punk be administered at some venue other than our beloved club.

I would be completely against a seated Daft Punk show but if it's the only way i can see them i'm more than willing to.

I might go see Hot Chip!

Lily Allen is coming back. How about Amy Winehouse? Her album is out next week and I am sure it is going to blow up, plus I am sure it would be a sell out.

Plus 930 is getting major press!
