i could be wrong, but i think he meant "dar doesn't allow for dancing", meaning it's a seated venue so it's not intended nor ideal for dancing.  you're stuck in the small confined space between your chair and the one in front of you, you'll be shoo'ed if you try dancing in the aisles, etc.  no one is going to tell you you can't dance (except possibly the snarky dance-nazi seated beside you).

uhmmmm, every venue from warner to verizon to dar to nissan to wherever has those same seats with those same seat space issues, and people dance the night away with no problem, whether shoulder to shoulder or partially in the aisle.  people behind you who tell you to sit, just say this . . . , "sorry i am not as old as you."

this is the worst place to request for this and i don't feel like bumping snailhook's thread since he doesn't book in the area anymore,

but Windy & Carl have an opening on their tour between their NYC and Richmond dates.

04-28 New York, NY - Le Poisson Rouge #*
04-30 Richmond, VA - The Triple #*

JUST SAYING THATS ALL

Hah I wish. The club already has two shows on the 29th, though.

And that show wouldn't attract more than just the Velvet regulars, anyway.

Hey Seth, Josh Ritter was recently in the east, but not at 930 club, nor headlining. In whatever fashion, can you please bring him to the club when he is on the east coast this summer? Open dates/time frame:

April 25, 2009     west coast
May 28, 2009    Richmond
May 30, 2009    NC
July 04, 2009    Ireland/overseas

Thanks much, Seth!!

DEVO!

Based on pictures from their recent shows, it looks DEVO has truly brought back the videos that made their shows in the 80s the spectacular events they were.

I'm going to the Richmond show on thursday, and yeah, afgan is right - they couldn't fill the club up.

Hey Seth, My Bloody Valentine needs to play in an east coast city not named New York City, but rather Washington, DC. Can you make this happen??

How about just doing this?

NYE 2009:
MBV
JAMC
Dino Jr.

Eight months should be enough time to get something like that together, no?

I'll gladly take that any new years (or any day for that matter).
