They bring in their own PA/speakers. No damage would be done to the club's gear.

who ever can pay more . . . wins.  gee, i wonder who that will be.  it is up to the artist to decide; play at place where the fans would rather see you, or take the money and run.

Walky my friend, who are you going to do whatever job it is do for?  If one person offers you $25 an hour and other offers you $15 an hour, well I'd say very few if any would go for the $15 an hour gig.  Musicians need to feed their families as well.  I understand the frustration very well, but I'm not so sure it is as simple as saying 'take the money and run'.

If a My Bloody Valentine tour is announced and the Fillmore is listed rather than the club,  I will be the saddest panda this side of China. Even sadder than that mother panda at the zoo.

I have never been to the Fillmore but is there something actually wrong with the place or is this another DAR type argument.

It's an "I don't want to give Live Nation any money so I will not go if they play there" argument.

what is wrong with live nation?  Other than not booking decent bands to their venues?

Ask Seth.

To make a long story short, their aim has been to monopolize live music ever since they were an arm of Clear Channel. I personally do not feel comfortable giving money to company like that.

It's a give and take. If The Fillmore booked MBV and not the 9:30, how many of you would actually skip it because its a LN venue?

Do I want MBV to play the 9:30? Hell yeah. But if for some unfortunate reason they can't and the only way I can see them in the area is by going to the Fillmore, then give me that Fillmore show.

I agree that exorbitant fees on tickets is one of the worst parts of buying tickets to a 'big' show (most of the shows I go to I could buy 5 tickets for what some shows charge in fees), but I would make an exception for MBV, especially since I sold my Richmond tickets the last time they came around because I had an early flight to catch the next day.  I would watch MBV at 930, Verizon, Fillmore, BC, someone's basement, Baltimore, DC, Jiffy Lube, etc; so regardless of who gets them, if we even GET a show, I am going to go.

I would prefer the 930 Club, as it is always a great time.

That is fair enough. I have seen them twice so it would not kill me to miss them if they play the Fillmore this time (if this time ever happens). I will still be a very sad panda, however.

Belle and Sebastian have at least one US date confirmed in Pitchfork Fest. Two or three nights at the club would be ideal but MPP or even DAR would suffice.

unless the fillmore sucks as a venue i would prefer to see them there as it would save a half hour drive into DC.   or rams head live actually would be better.
