I saw the High Llamas open for Stereolab at the 930 Club.
They were boring as pretty much all their albums are.. I kept buying them hoping to find something that people were seeing but eventually gave up (the one that rhymes with mingus or something bout cans maybe?).. Also what kept me buying them was the work he was doing with the groop.
I do like the Gideon Gaye one a lot though... then they did that Hawaii one which is so boring..although of course I liked the Nick Drake cover...
I remember at that Stereolab show actually talking to Sean not sure what the heck about.. probably about how Stereolab was far superior..
.......or how great Nick Drake was....seems like in those days half the conversations were about how great Drake was...
Recently I found a bunch of Microdisney LPs for a pittance at a thrift.....that was Sean's first band.. I'm scared to listen to them..
Of course Sean's contributions to some of the greatest music ever made speaks for itself.
