i like a lot of hard rock/prog rock/metal, Tool fits right in there.  but the "pretty please" is for their live show... i've only seen them once, but it was amazing.  would love to see them again.

and, let's face it, i'm a tool, so it's all in solidarity, really.

Muse fans seem nowhere near as douchey as Tool fans.

Seth, was chatting with Bobb Bruno from Best Coast the other night, and one thing he said when I told him I live in DC is that the 9:30 is the best club in the world. Not the country, not North America...the entire world. And I've heard this time and again independently from people. So thank you for all you do for the bands that make them want to keep coming back again and again. We are very lucky.

As an aside, I went to see the Misfits in Chicago the other night at the Portage Theater, and God it was a dump. And it reminds me that even in a major city like Chicago (which has some wonderful venues) some promoters use crummy venues and pull outrageous stunts to cut corners and make more money. I had to leave early because the sound was so horrendous and the venue was in such shabby condition. It really ruined the experience. But I appreciate how spoiled I am after years of great-sounding shows at the 9:30.
