Seachange opened for GBV in NY this past weekend.  Alas, I was stuck outside the club waiting for the guy who bought my ticket for me (he was an hour late).  I could hear the band a bit through the walls....sounded promising.  They're a favorite of Pollard's right now.  Obviously you recommend the band?

You referring to me or the real Pollard?  I thought they were ok, but was in the bar for most of it and probably enjoyed the rest of it because I had been drinking while in the bar.  I would not call them a favorite, don't remember enough about them.

Whoops, sorry, I was referring to the real Pollard, Robert Pollard of Guided by Voices and Fading Captain fame....  On their website in the links section it says, "Seachange, a GREAT new band. One of Bob's faves. Their debut full length is out on Matador in April. They'll be opening for GBV in April. Check out their site."

 one of my few purchases from fopp, i think markie might like this one.  lo-fi leaning, a bit melancholy, and tasteful vintage electronic blips.
 
 meet through the one of the barracudas... nice choice skeeter...  i even heard the barracuda "hit", summer fun, being piped over a edinburgh's store sound system on this last trip.

 pulled this of the  The Scoundrelles website.  members of Venus Ray moonlight with this group.

a brief skim of the messages on the barracudas yahoo groups page indicates the shows were a success...
 
 also findout via that group that the long ryders are touring this summer.  only in europe of course...
