I'd be very jealous. Relaxer, please don't go! Just be a daddy this weekend and stay home!

Oh no, I'm not going. I just had to give credit to the Han Solo reference. No shows for me until Antony most likely.

hey azaghal, hope you liked that impromptu jam at the end of the night.

johnny brenda's schedule is looking good: homosexuals, black lips, vetiver, pissed jeans, feelies, yahowha 13 in march, kool keith, robyn hitchcock, acid mothers temple, richard lloyd, quintron in april, terrie ex, ghost, merzbow in may...

and keep an eye out for 2009 tours by leaf hound and comus.  still working on flower travelin' band.

Both Six Organs and Circulatory System have albums due out in august which I'd assume would mean tours. Both would also be worth the trip up to JB's if they don't get DC gigs.

You saw them last year; are Van Der Graaf Generator worth $30?

I was in for sure until I found out what it cost.

Me too...plus David Jackson is no longer with the band, and seeing him play double sax was always a big part of the draw of the elusive VdGG show...

yes.  absolutely, undoubtedly, yes.  i saw them at nearfest on friday and in nyc last night. the four van der graaf shows i've seen rank as some of the very best shows i've ever seen.

they'll play for an hour and 45 minutes, which will consist of four or five new ones, and five or six from the 1971-1976 period.  seeing "the sleepwalkers" and "man-erg" live will send chills down your spine.  peter hammill's vocals are as intense as they ever were, guy evans is one of the most underrated drummers in rock history, and hugh banton still has a massive organ sound.  david jackson is an important part of the band, but he isn't really missed, believe it or not.

seriously, if you are a VDGG fan, do NOT miss this opportunity to see them.  it will be the best $30 concert you will see this year.
