Fair enough, the preemptive bitching is probably uncalled for but holding up the line-up in order to add another headliner (admittedly only a rumour) is rather silly.  Coachella added Massive Attack, Daft Punk, Kanye West, and Madonna AFTER the rest of the line-up had been announced weeks earlier.  Putting aside your personal opinion about any of those additions, is there really anyone out there bigger or more desirable than any of those acts - that's worthy of holding up this announcement? Publish the damn thing so we can bitch in earnest!

I heard that if the the festival sells out quickly, they are going to change the start time and add a second festival the same night.

but you have to admit that hype is part of a large festival.  one that has been running for years, like Coachella, can announce acts later on without worrying about people losing interest in the original lineup and such.

a first time gig like this needs to come out strong and have a good initial ticket selling, i think.

if this "other band" is enough to delay announcing the lineup, they better be good.

The timing of a festival announcement is huge, as is who is playing it. For example, we have some confirmed bands for the  DAM! Festival but it wouldn't help us to announce it until we get a couple of headliners on board. Maybe they are trying to maximize the impact of the line-up.

Or they lost some permits or something and the whole damn thing is in jeopardy.

This DAM Festival sounds good  :)
Are you going to book national acts or strictly local bands?

You can buy tickets to some of the dates right now on ticketmaster.com. Of course, you either have to be a member of the Who fan club, which costs about $59.99!!!, or pay the $59.99 PER TICKET on ticketmaster!  SCUMS.

Or you could just do the smart thing and not go at all.

It's not $59.99 per ticket - It's $59.99 per order.
All you're doing is buying a single fan club membership on-the-spot.
