I have no problem with U2 having seen them live several times, it's just that there are probably numerous u2 related boards out there to be getting info from.

The last time I saw Muse their DAT player broke his arm stage diving into the crowd about 5 or 6 songs in, so he couldn?t finish the set.  I admit, without him it didn?t sound quite as good, but it still rocked.  That dude can seriously rock a DAT though, not just in an over the top ostentatious way, but in a serious and thoughtful way as well.

U2 helped ubiquitize Apple's iPod w/ those Vertigo commercials . . .Bono's venture capital firm Elevation Partners is a major stakeholder in Palm . . .and this tour is being sponsored by Blackberry (RIM) ?!   This is as convoluted as Get On Your Boots!

At this point all I'm really interested in is what kind of phone bono is pocketing these days.  It could tip the scales for me on whether or not I sit this show out and snicker at those who go, or sit it out and wonder how it was.

Just kidding.  I don't really care about any of this shit.  My two U2 shows in 84/85 are enough to tide me over and i officially declare them watershed moments in my life.  Seriously.  I'd never witnessed the true cathartic earth moving power of music before these shows and I'll be forever grateful to U2 for shining that light. I've just moved on, that's all.  I still listen to those first 4 studio albums to this day.

After that that they pretty much left me in the dust, though i must admit "Kite" from all that you can't whatever was probablly the best song they'd done since the 80's.  I got daddy issues too, so i can relate, you see.  It really is a beautiful track.

I might even suck it up and buy a couple tickets to  this tour to surpise the wife if it won't put me in the poor house.  Sometimes we play the "taking the spouse somewhere" game...where we head out for a night and the tour guide does not divulge the destination until it's obvious.  We'll see...I doubt it but anything is possible.

I've been able to play with the Foxboro presale a bit, as a U2.com subscriber.  It seems there are very few $250 seats.  At least, there are $97.50 seats available in the sections nearest the stage, only about 25 rows from the field.  So, it seems they're only charging a lot for the lowest rows in the best lowers, then the rest of the lower level is $97.50.

The mezzanine level seems to be $97.50, except for between what would be "4:00 - 8:00" if you look at the seating diagram as though it's a clock face - with "12:00" being the stage.  "4:00 - 8"00" is 57.50.  The field is 57.50.  The bulk of the uppers are 30.00.

It looks as though they're actually being pretty kind with the ticket prices.

for the NYC/NJ show, I was able to pull 5th & 7th row lowers @ $97.  so $250 can only be the first few rows.

i wonder what sections they consider the "best lowers" - i'm under the impression that the show will generally face/be oriented towards the GA field, meaning that the seats closest to the stage are in fact "behind" it... although as the name of the tour implies, there really isn't a traditional front or back so maybe the seats closest to the stage are in fact "the good ones".

Edit: using my code, i tried pulling up $250 seats at the 3 different football stadium shows (can only get singles at this point) - looks like the expensive seats are anything immediately north and south of the stage (assuming north is up), in other words the lowers directly behind the slim (Red) Zone field GA area.

Personally - having been to the past few tours, and to watch the DVDs of them, it seems the closer you can be to the main stage, the better.  Sure - they go around the "Ellipse/Heart" a bit - but the vast majority of the time they're on the main stage.

For my taste - I don't like to be directly across from the stage at stadium shows.  It seems to me that enough sound is lost, in between, and you get some bass slapback there as well.  I would expect behind the "red zones" is going to be where you'd want to be.
