take your hate elsewhere.

from pitchfork:

Murphy has also mentioned how dedicating himself to the band full-time has prevented him from taking advantage of other opportunities. In December, he told Spin, "There are other things I haven't been able to do because of it. Twice, I couldn't make an Arcade Fire record. I couldn't make a Spoon record. I couldn't work with John Cale or Devo. The plan was for this band to be part of my life, then it started to be the whole of my life."

They are not...James Murphy is just an attention whore like MIA. They will do a "reunion" gig/tour in a year.

Wait a minute.  Isn't not working with Arcade Fire and John Cale dodging a bullet?  Why the hell is he complaining?   That's like:  "Madonna?  Oh, yeah?  You like my records?  Well, thank you.  Work with you?  Producing?  Oh.....I'd LOVE to....but....ummmm....I have this record coming out and you know....I HAVE TO TOUR IT...you know how it is..."

This is just a guess but producing Arcade Fire might net a quarter million or so.

And to his credit, he is a much better producer than musician. Those Six Finger Satellite albums sound pretty excellent.

I still say he is full of shit and LCDSS will "reunite" in less than 12 months.

I don't think they'll be back THAT soon, but I don't think it will be long enough to warrant all the hype of a "last show evar!" advertising.

The Six Finger Satellite records do sound great.

Reunite or not, the idea of a 3 hour LCD show appeals greatly to me.  They totally made my summer by playing freefest.

For the NYC based 930 Bbbers:

Might be up at Terminal 5 to see Josh Ritter on Saturday since I've been shoite outta luck trying to get a ticket for the show here. (if you know anyone with an extra ticket for the dc show have them PM me!)

Not been to Terminal 5 before, I know its like triple the size of the 930, correct? How's the sound? Do shows typically start on time? Anything I should know about the venue?

Only have done the smaller NYC venues-much smaller, like Joe's Pub, with the exception of MSG.

T5 should list doors and band time. They are accurate - Bowery does a decent job of getting things started on time. The place is cavernous and sound is spotty. For the more electronic bands, I find them to sound a bit better.

If youre looking to be close to the front or a good spot on the railing (there are 3 levels), get there early (ala door times). There is an empanadas mamas on the 3rd floor also. If its sold out - it can be miserable in there - but I dont think Josh Ritter is.

And if youre using public transit (which Ill assume you are), its a bitter cold walk to the west side from the subway station (esp with the winds we're now getting). The club is virtually on the Hudson River.
