to be honest, i am kind of pulling for the caps to get in the playoffs. not just because that means they might play the pens (and i could go), but i think it would be great for the league

But hey, I know the Pen's bandwagon doesn't stop for these simple concepts.
the pens have played one more game - yet they have two more wins.  so the habs can't cover the pen's lead with one game.  pens still #1.

pens also have the best record of the conference(57.7% wins vs. 55.8%).

 so.  fucking.  pathetic. [/b]
That's all fine and dandy but the NHL standings are based on points.
That's why when you go to look at the standing at NHL.com
 they highlight the points section.

The Habs win their next game that gives them 98 pts. 98pts is MORE than 97pts.

 so.     fucking.    pen-tarded.

right. the pens have the most points, so they are in first, at the top of the eastern conference. your link has the pens in first

Currently 31.8% chance of making it.
If Devils, Thrash, and Habs win tonight jumps to 42%

Ovie's cap hit is 3.8 million this year. Worth every penny.

i understand the habs have a game in hand. i also understand that a game in hand doesnt mean anything unless you get points from it. i understand that the nhl standings are based on points, and not points per game, or whatever you are arguing. i also understand the pens have the most points, and therefore are currently, as of this poast, at the top of the eastern conference   :D

NEWSFLASH!!! It doesn't mean shit unless  you win the Stanley Cup, and that my friends is going to be a western conference team. (unfortunatley) So to all you pentards, enjoy  your meaningless points lead with a game in hand.

Really? I was under the impression the Detroit Red Wings, who have won 66% of their games this year, were in the league. [/b]
the red wings are in a league of their own.

 unfortunately.

San Jose and Anaheim would probably beg to differ.

Being a Bruins fan, i am also rooting for Pittsburgh and against Washington.

I had originally hoped the Caps could pull out the Southeast and get the B's in the firrst found 3 vs. 6 matchup, but neither look to hold up that bargain.

The Bruins look to be 8th and i would MUCH rather play Pittsburgh than Montreal. much much much.

Also, i got to make several nasty phone calls back home last night after the Bruins eliminated the Leafs from the playoff race.  and to think there was talk of moving the Pens to Ontario not too long ago...
