I wonder if they will set up the schedule where it's possible to catch every band with just a litle bit of overlap.    Going back and forth from the forest to the main stage will be a hike from what I remember from hfstival.  That was also GA I think and it was impossible to get in the pit unless you been there all day.

at HFStival you bought pit tickets seperately, so unless you paid extra, you weren't getting in anyway.

I cant really imagine this thing selling out "instantly", especially with only a 2 ticket limit in the presale.

It's free, but keep this in mind. The main "act" being advertised here is Blink 182 (as the headliner and reunion). I cant imagine there being alot of overlap between the people who want to catch Blink on the reunion tour and the people went to v-fest last year. They are 2 different fanbases methinks. In other words, I dont think the blink fans will get their hands on them until saturday.

But the presale code may have leaked out, and Blink fans might be all over the pre-sale too.  I'm hoping I can get my two tomorrow morning, get them mailed to me, and be good to go.

However, with that Flaming Lips show at MPP on that friday, picking them up then at will call is an option...

On that note, has anyone seen ticket prices for the Lips at Merriweather?

I havent seen them yet, dont think they're up. Some of the prices for their other shows this summer were around the 40-45 dollar range I think, so that may give you an idea of what to expect.

So I'm going to use my ticketmaster account to get a pair.

And my wife is going to use her ticketmaster account (and credit card) to get another pair.

Can I pick up her pair at the box office, if I have her id and credit card, or does she have to be the one who picks them up?

Tickets are available only through Ticketmaster.com. Will call orders may be picked up at MPP or 9:30 Club box offices, but not tickets without a pre-existing order. Will call pickup dates are Fri 8/21 10am - Fri 8/28 9pm. Unclaimed will call will be released to the general public after 8/28! There is a 2 ticket limit per customer. A credit card is required to order tickets, even if you choose the no charge will call option. This is for identification and control purposes. All tickets are general admission. There are no reserved seats.

The ticket options are:
1. Free ticket with optional $5 per ticket delivery fee. No delivery fee on tickets picked up at will call at Merriweather or 9:30 Club box offices from 8/21-28.

2. Free ticket with $5 donation and optional $5 per ticket delivery fee. No delivery fee on tickets picked up at will call at Merriweather or 9:30 Club box offices from 8/21-28.

3. Karma Package - get a free ticket and 1 t-shirt for $30 or get 2 tickets and 2 t-shirts for $55. Prices include $5 donation and delivery fees.

i'm definitely doing the $5 donation option.  i'd happily do the karma package if it meant that the charity got more money, but that doesn't appear to be the case - it's the same $5... and i don't need more t-shirts.  i'll text in an additional donation instead.

 Anyone know how this is going to be set up? something along the lines of Warped tour would be better than actually having it in the pavilion and could accommodate more people ala an actual festival setting don't you think?

yes but does warped tour not use the pavillion?  I don't think they could set it up without using the pavillion.  You have to think a lot of people would be on the lawn as well watching it from there.

    I think the normal capacity for Merriweather is 18,000 or so.  and thats packin it in.  If they are saying 35,000 tickets are available then they are definitely using the pavilion.  Also, there are the woods between the pavilion and the Mall, but I cant see them cramming 17,000 people there, so i think they may even use that AND that lot where Warped Tour is held (and where the 2nd HFS Stage was). this would also make spacing sense so that the dance tent isnt too overlapping. 

  I just want to make one request. dont put the dance tent in Symphony Woods cause its all effin muddy and dancing on those wood chips would pretty much ruin things.  kthnx.
