This is Mid-Atlantic.  Where's that thread?

This line-up will definitely be mocked here.  It's a little frat-boy/mellow but at least Arcade Fire aren't playing.

Firefly Music Festival
Dover, DE
June 18-22, 2014

I'm not listing everyone but I guess the big names are

The Foo Fighters
Outkast
Jack Johnson
Imagine Dragons
The Lumineers
Arctic Monkeys
Weezer
Band of Horses
Teagan and Sara
Girl Talk
Jake Bugg
Iron & Wine
Ziggy Marley
Kaiser Chiefs
Sleigh Bells
Grouplove

and y'all should go because because of planets alligning you can see the "The" bands!  No, this isn't 2002.  Not The Strokes, The White Stripes, The Hives and The Vines but:

Cage THE Elephant
Young THE Giant
Portugal THE Man

Sasquatch Festival

Having seen everyone I want to see on those line-ups before.  Maybe I should skip seeing any bands for 10 years so that when I see a festival line-up I get more excited.

Queens of the Stone Age are announcing more non-DC/Baltimore dates. Chicago, May 9th, at the Aragon.

Sigh.

Didn't see the new Rocklahoma lineup on here, so here you go.  When I first it. I thought it was one of those fake Coachella posters, but alas, it's legit.

This is a great festival. We went there on our honeymoon the year Thurston Moore curated. It is mighty tempting this year.

I think Big Ears in Knoxville takes the lineup prize so far in 2014 though.

I drove to shows from time to time in Victoriaville, which was 2 hours away from home. Some of the best shows I've seen were there (Godspeed You Black Emperor in 1999, Set Fire to Flames). However, it is somewhat expensive to buy single tickets (3 shows in one evening will be ~100$), and the festival boss is not so friendly (Taping is not allowed, even for bands who want to have a copy of their own show!). In my opinion the "rock" (non-avant garde) part of the festival is weak this year, and many of the big names have already played there many times.

Any of you nuts going to Lolla this year, the Lolla lottery is up on the website now.  This is for the golden tickets they usually do before the regular on sale.  This year they are doing it different then past years.  I've got golden tickets before but this year looks to be a free for all.
