if you haven't heard it already, you're too late: pitchfork has given it a 10.  all cred will be lost if you listen to it now.

(bonus points to anyone who actually makes it through that whole write-up... ugh)

I bet reading the writeup is less painful than listening to the album.  ;)

Not even close.  I'm not much of a Kanye fan, but I enjoyed the new album.

I listened to the track that samples King Crimson and I just can't get into it. It's probably because I just dont like rap and hip hop in general, but the overblown production and West's annoying voice really impede having a pleasant listening experience.

and for $106 you can see it performed live at bowery. (assuming one could get in).

I sampled a couple of tracks.

Lyrically, he's too much of an egotistical douche for me to enjoy.

For my token hip hop album for this decade (so far), i'll take the Roots' How I Got Over. And it's way more than token.

Sway - This Was Tomorrow (nice electronic dream pop: http://swaypop.com/album/this-was-tomorrow) or itunes, but bandcamp is cheapest)

Broken Little Sister - Memories, Violet & Demons (new Japanese shoegaze: http://darla.com/index.php?fuseaction=item_cat.ecom_superitem_detail&item_cat_id=38732 or on itunes)

That's probably the same reason why I like it.  Runaway is probably my favorite track...
